Thanks to my friend Aaron who recommends me to all his neighbors, I found another great project in Pepperwood.
The idea is to create bookshelves for children's books that face out. This makes the books more visually accessable for the kids. Here's a picture I found online that illustrates the idea.
And here is the finished product.
They still need to be painted. The back is solid to provide good support and it gives the shelves the feel of a cabinet, even though they are built in. We included cubby holes by the hearth to stack coloring books and things like that. Overall it was a good addition to this family room.
